Dalrada + ATI of New York · Hot water. Reimagined.
Put hot water inside the building’s emissions plan.
New York City’s Local Law 97 concerns building greenhouse-gas emissions. Hot-water electrification is one potential part of a broader building review; it does not establish compliance by itself.

New York project planning
Keep NYC Local Law 97 within its actual jurisdiction
Local Law 97 is a New York City framework. A Long Island location does not by itself establish that NYC requirements apply. Confirm the property’s jurisdiction, coverage and compliance pathway with the responsible professional before using an indicative emissions comparison.
- Actual property address and confirmed coverage
- Whole-building baseline and applicable emissions factors
- Current official guidance and the responsible project professional
Confirm the building’s requirements first
NYC Buildings describes emissions limits starting in 2024 and stricter limits in 2030. Coverage, exceptions and compliance pathways depend on the property. Use the current official guidance and a qualified project professional to establish the requirements for the building.
Separate hot water from the whole-building result
Identify existing hot-water energy use, other building loads and the applicable emissions factors. Compare a proposed system using explicit assumptions. A refrigerant named CO₂ does not mean the plant or the building has zero operational emissions.
Prepare an engineering conversation
Bring building identification, use, available energy records, the current hot-water system and installation constraints. A heat-pump comparison can inform the discussion, but the online tools do not produce a certified emissions report or a compliance determination.
Questions before you begin
Will a DCE 125 make my building compliant?
This website cannot establish that. Compliance depends on the applicable pathway and the whole building. Equipment suitability and projected emissions require project-specific review.
Where should I verify current requirements?
Use NYC Buildings’ official LL97 and emissions-limit pages below. Review the requirements for the actual property rather than relying only on a general size rule.
